Zafreen Kabir
Drum, Piano
Zafreen Kabir embarked on her musical journey at the age of 6, inspired by her older sibling who was already proficient in playing the piano. She took piano and violin lessons in her early years, but it was during her time in secondary school that her passion truly blossomed. Opting for percussion, she also discovered her love for the stage. She became involved in various musical ensembles at her school, including several bands and a jazz group, in addition to the prestigious Grand Orchestre Grande Rivière. This ensemble is the pioneer of secondary school intergenerational orchestras worldwide, skillfully led by Denise Simard and Jessica Lapointe.
Her talents earned her a gold medal at MusicFest Quebec 2022, as well as two more gold medals at the Festival of Harmonies and Symphony Orchestras of Quebec 2023. Beyond her on-stage achievements, Zafreen Kabir dedicates a significant portion of her time to listening to classical music, honing her scales, and exploring instruments such as the harp and clarinet for pure musical pleasure. Her passion for music harmoniously intertwines with her love for teaching and her enthusiasm for working with children.
