Mathieu Péloquin

Introduced to music by his family when he was very young, Mathieu discovered a passion that led him on a rich musical journey. Following his college studies (specializing in percussion), he participated in the intensive drum program led by the renowned Chuck Burrows in Ottawa, and qualified for a spot in the University of Montreal’s enriched jazz drum program, graduating in 2017.

In the course of his career, Mathieu has had the opportunity to work with several professional musicians and to help establish several groups in the region. He is a regular guest musician with the Orchestre Symphonique de Gatineau (OSG), and over the past decade he has recorded with the Mike Gauthier Trio, Les Mosquitos, La Cavale, Antoni Gilbert, Charabia, Buzz Live Band, and more.

A passionate and dedicated teacher, Mathieu views his students’ development as a personal goal. Inspired by his own teachers, he offers a progressive program adapted to each student’s needs—and rhythm, of course!

Drum and band teacher as well as the musical director of the school, Mathieu is a key member of this organisation.
