Drum

Charles started drumming in 1968 at the age of 14 years old. From 1969 to 1973, Charles learned the rudiments of drumming while playing with the LaSalle Cadets of Ottawa which was one of the finest Drum and Bugle Corps in North America. In 1972, LaSalle Cadets won the top drums award at the World Championship held in Boston, Massachusetts. Charles started teaching drums in 1974 and during the following years went on to teach in Ottawa, Carleton Place, Aylmer, Sault Ste-Marie, Kingston as well as consulting in Montreal. From 1979 to 1985, Charles was also a key member in the Canadian Judges Association for Drum and Bugle Corps. Charles is now a member/administrator of the Heritage Hands Ottawa Drum Club and also teaches at the SONART Music School in Gatineau.
